What We Believe

In the Light Ministries Statement of Faith

Introductory note: This is my personal statement of faith. Oftentimes I use the Hebrew name Yeshua instead of the English, Jesus. That doesn’t mean I demean the name of Jesus. Far from it. The name Yeshua is special because it was the name given to the Saviour in his own language. I enjoy having the freedom to use either name knowing it represents the same person.

3. He promised a Saviour who would take away our sins. Isaiah Chapter 53

4. This Saviour would be himself coming as a man. The biblical Messiah is the Son of God, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace. These are not separate divine Persons but manifestations of the One Spirit who is God. Isaiah 9:6

11. Salvation is by grace. Grace is God exerting his power in the believers life enabling them to obey the truth. Phil. 2:13

12. The gifts of the Spirit are manifestations of the presence of Yashua. He gives them to all who believe according to his will and in answer to prayer. 1 Cor. 12
